The Pine State Flowers logo is here! I'm so thrilled and excited about it—my good friend (and super talented artist) Audrey Bell is the creator. Since the shop was built in the 1930's, I wanted the logo to reflect some of that history and have a vintage feel. The blossoming dogwood, of course, is North Carolina's state flower. Pine and juniper reflect North Carolina's natural landscape, and our interest in plants beyond traditional cut flowers.

Audrey is in her last year of a Core Fellowship at Penland in eastern NC; check out some of her mixed media assemblages on her website.

Also, I want to thank the Herald-Sun for this article about the shop; many of the Lakewood neighbors and other local flower growers have contacted Pine State Flowers since it was published on Monday and I'm so grateful for the support. –Maggie
