Suuuper overdue update

Hi friends! It's been over 2 months since the shop has been open, which is way too long for an update, but it has been keeping me busy, as you can imagine. So much has happened—opening weekend, Mother's Day—and so much has changed about the shop.

Some quick updates:

-Pine State Flowers now offers deliveries and online ordering of Seasonal Bouquets (beautiful mixed bouquets of that day's freshest flowers from different farms)

-You can buy online or in the store from a small, curated selection of locally-made gifts, including Big Spoon, Escazu and Videri chocolates, local beeswax candles, and cards. Some upcoming gifts include medicinal tinctures made from wildcrafted or sustainably grown plants (Full Flower Herbs), and biodegradable, refillable soaps and laundry detergent made in Durham (Fillaree).

-Pine State Flowers has partnered with local artist Lee Moore Crawford (lee attracting birds and bees) to offer her arrangements online, through the shop, and for weddings and other special events. Lee's arrangements are inspired by ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arranging.

-We've done our first wedding! And are excitedly waiting for more happening later this summer and fall.

-In an effort to reduce environmental waste by importing stockrooms of containers and other floral supplies, Pine State Flowers has instead begun to partner with American artists to create handmade, small batch containers. Our first collaboration will be revealed soon!

Stay tuned because other happenings are in the works—workshops, expansion of the gift store, developments on the flower farm—and more! And of course, a huge thank you to all of my supporters, neighbors, friends, and anyone who has lent a hand in this crazy, chaotic, but ultimately awesome time. Much love! –Maggie
