Arranging Flowers on a Budget {February 24 • 10:00AM–12:00PM}

Arranging flowers at home can be a meditative and enjoyable experience, but it doesn’t have to be a costly one. In this class, we will discuss several ways to get the most of your flowers, and to fill your home on even the tiniest budget.

This workshop will cover:

  • Extending the vase life of your flowers.

  • Types of vases that can help you create a stunning display while using fewer stems—whether you want to fill your house with flowers, or create a centerpiece.

  • Introduction to ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arranging that is known for its sparse, yet striking, style. We will delve into some of the design principles that will help you craft elegant compositions, highlighting the natural beauty of each flower.

Participants will have time to play with flowers using what they learn from the class, but we won’t be creating lush arrangements—instead we will be focusing on doing more with less. The price of each workshop includes the materials cost for flowers, a small vessel, and a flower frog. Clippers will be provided; feel free to bring your own.
